Generated Content Stopped Growing VS Social Media Growing

It's So Cute We Just Want To Bite It!

If you search through some media sites you'll come across some news about this topic. Even a recent Forrester Research says that the content being generated worldwide has stopped growing or mainly decreased its flow; on the other hand the social media usage is increasing nonstop by several points in a row.

Well, numbers are just that, numbers. But if you try to analyse the results, you'll see that this brings a huge opportunity for those providing content.

The social media beast is eager for more content. It's fed by quality content worth spreading.
So, if you provide that kind of content, you're in a roll for success. Learn from the social network at stake, notice that one is different from another, determine what's your goal and provide the correct content to be spread by that network.

Opportunity is there. Grab it!

Social Media Boosts E-Mail Marketing

Media_httpwwwadweekco_joikx

I don't get tired of saying this over and over again. It's not that one medium kills the other. It's integration as a key for success.
Just see this survey conducted by eMarketer.com.

According to this: 81% of US e-Mail Marketers believe that social media extends the reach of e-mail content to new markets.

Seesmic buys Ping.fm and that's... cool

Seesmic_ping
This is why I simply love this game.

There's a lot, and I really mean a LOT of twitter and other social platforms apps and clients right now. Everybody struggling for a place in the sun. The rush right now is to integrate the biggest number of social platforms and still be relevant and publish the people status updates on a seamless and friendly way.

On the marathon, three apps seems to appear very close with each other: SeesmicHootsuite and Tweetdeck.
There are several services that can achieve similar results like Posterous which I'm a big fan like you can see from this post. But on the app side, systems like TweetDeck or Seesmic can become very powerful indeed for the day to day work.

The fight is hard and complex. Everybody try to achieve more platforms integrations and to have the more mobile gadgets ready for autoposting everywhere. And yet... be of simple usage.
Recently Hootsuite received a Mashable Open Web Award for the best Twitter App. Also TweetDeck integrated Linkedin on their postage capacity. Now, on a twist and after TweetDeck having passed Seesmic on the iPhone app distribution time, here comes a genius business and strategic move and places Seesmic on Top Social Services in the World by buying one of the most prolific web status postage service in the world: Ping.fm.

From one moment to another, Seesmic has now the capability to connect to more than 46 platforms since my last count. And more are expected to enter. It's huge!
Now and according with Loic le Meur, CEO of Seesmic, claims and I agree with him, they merged a great posting service to a gathering feedback application and now, people can have all in one place.

What a spin from a shy ranking but with great functionalities (I do prefer Seesmic to Tweetdeck) to the Top of the line. Now I can't wait to see what the other competitors are going to do next.
I really love this game. ;-)

Linkedin finally becoming a social tool

Screen_shot_2010-01-03_at_2
After all this years and maybe because of Facebook influence, the prime professional social network Linkedin has changed their look & feel as some tools, transforming its interface on a more user-friendly and practical tool to communicate to our connections.

It's so easy to access to the main page that now reflects a status timeline and spread our message that it trends a new use of this network. The events, the blog posts and specially the discussions are on the rise. Everybody is using it and it's so easy. Why? Because it come down to what people are used to it. Twitter and Facebook had changed the look&feel of the web and people are used to this new clean and practical interfaces.

I'm using Linkedin a lot more. And I'm reaching people because I'm not doing a big effort to it. I'm just interacting, communicating and when we look again, are the people which I was looking for asking me questions. It's completely game changing. And it's great! ;-) Use it well and wise: which means: give value to them, to receive retribution.
