Seesmic buys Ping.fm and that's... cool

This is why I simply love this game.

There's a lot, and I really mean a LOT of twitter and other social platforms apps and clients right now. Everybody struggling for a place in the sun. The rush right now is to integrate the biggest number of social platforms and still be relevant and publish the people status updates on a seamless and friendly way.

On the marathon, three apps seems to appear very close with each other: SeesmicHootsuite and Tweetdeck.
There are several services that can achieve similar results like Posterous which I'm a big fan like you can see from this post. But on the app side, systems like TweetDeck or Seesmic can become very powerful indeed for the day to day work.

The fight is hard and complex. Everybody try to achieve more platforms integrations and to have the more mobile gadgets ready for autoposting everywhere. And yet... be of simple usage.
Recently Hootsuite received a Mashable Open Web Award for the best Twitter App. Also TweetDeck integrated Linkedin on their postage capacity. Now, on a twist and after TweetDeck having passed Seesmic on the iPhone app distribution time, here comes a genius business and strategic move and places Seesmic on Top Social Services in the World by buying one of the most prolific web status postage service in the world: Ping.fm.

From one moment to another, Seesmic has now the capability to connect to more than 46 platforms since my last count. And more are expected to enter. It's huge!
Now and according with Loic le Meur, CEO of Seesmic, claims and I agree with him, they merged a great posting service to a gathering feedback application and now, people can have all in one place.

What a spin from a shy ranking but with great functionalities (I do prefer Seesmic to Tweetdeck) to the Top of the line. Now I can't wait to see what the other competitors are going to do next.
I really love this game. ;-)

Twitter isn't losing growth... just the opposite!

People are analyzing twitter statistics and already claiming twitters death. As claimed e-mail marketings death.
How wrong... again!

Twitter isn't losing usage and growth. On the contrary. What's happening it's a transition from the web version to the apps version.
Let's face it... Using twitter through their pages it's a pain. Seesmic Web Version is so much better... and Loic (Seesmic founder) has just posted an article mentioning an increasing growth by 30%/month. It's huge.
The fact is, savvy people are using the app's versions. Why? Because it's more convenient, more powerful to keep track and filter the huge following lists by topics and keywords. The functionalities are extremely better through the apps than through twitters web version.
That's the reason. It's not a decline. It's an adaptation...
